Flounder tops Biloxi Back Bay fishing report. 7-26-10 Man them darn flounders fun, Yea! eat good too, hun; Can't complain about the o'l flat fish, they got it all going on!!!! Early week they were on, had that early morning high tide and the flounders were moving up close to shore and on the flats to feed on the falling tide. And the WHIPASNAPA was jaw jacking um, 32 or so in 2 days, with a few nice trout, did the Bay Slam one day, Reds, flounders, and trout. All on the pogey which is very plentiful right now. They opened up the live baiting for shrimp also, but if got them pogeys they as good as any. Saturday's, N. La crew got on the black drum 20 or so good eating size, like the shrimp for them, and a couple reds, but where undersized they seem to prefer the shrimp also. A few nice trout, specks, and whites, and one flat fish. Pretty darn good bite all week. Thanks to all! Bay should continue to be hot, as the weather! Islands opening up for some catch and release. Hear the reds are pretty thick out there still waiting. Maybe they will give us a lil federal water to go get some fall cobia, groupers, kings,etc....?! Come on load up for your WhipaSnapa Good Time: Just a lil reminder that summer almost over for the kids and we still catching some pretty darn good fish in the Bay, and should just keep getting better, Red and black drum, flounder, trout, etc.... Catch and release at Islands. Say some test should be back next couple days and may open up a lil bit of federal water too. So maybe we can get in a few fall cobia runs which was fantastic last couple years. Keep us in mind and if possible come on get on the WhipaSnapa and lets do the dang thang. Gone do a $300.00 trip giveaway!!! For the Saints/Viking game. Guess the score and win. Just go to our contacts page to send in your guess!! (Can use this year or next.) Just send in teams with your score. Deadline Sept 5,2010 and like with the super bowl 1st one in gets that score so get them in early but if you pick one already taken we will let you know so you can try again. GOOD LUCK!!!! Still fishing! Biloxi Back Bay getting mighty lively!7-19-10 Took a lil minication this week an of course missed a trip or 2, kid's had an invite to tour Ms State University. Did that an spent day or so with mom in Grenada, an swung through ol pops in Neshoba Co. Went boating on lil' WHIPA today and set out the crab pots, been tasting some good ol'boiled crabs. Decided while I was out to take a couple of fish weapons with me and the brill net. After putting out crab pots, went over and found one factory working and with one throw the net started swimming off with the pogey's (oh yea). So off to do lil fishing, wanted to fish some new spots, went to old reef by mouth of Fort Bayou. As I approached the reef I could smell fish and could see several boils on top. Throwed the anchor and it was on, as soon as the pogey hit the water BAM! For about 2 hours I sat there and reeled in fish as fast as humanly possible; specks, white trout, and some drag ripping gafftops. Most of the specks were 12 1/2 to 13 1/2 in. Just kept a few and left them biting. On way back, decided to stop try one more lil spot. Old discharge pier close to ramp and soon as my free lined pogey got up next to the pier BAM! Red fish, caught three, one was tagged and was the only one to make the 18in cut the other two were just a lil under size, but a blast on the light spin weapon. Boy, tell ya they keep this oil shut down might open up lil bit more water. But if not man the Bay is alive and well! We did reel well in Bay last year especially Aug. and Sept. Sure would love to get in a snapper trip!!!!!!!! Come on down South Mississippi and step aboard the WHIPASNPAPA! That's all you have to do. Ready to fish; tired of fighting with those people that SAY they gone make it right; bs from the bp; so if you need a cut especially for the kids, call us an LETS GO GET UM!!!!!!!!!! That's what we do best:::::::::: Capt Robert McDaniel 228-229-6978 www.whipasnapacharters.com

Fins to the left; Fins to the right! Thank You Jimmy Buffet!!!7-12-10 Well don't seem like they want the WHIPASNAPA or the lil'whipa to participate in helping clean up their little mess, so guess we'll keep on fishing boating and enjoying our lil CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE, only running North of CSX railroad bridge which is the Biloxi Back Bay. Don't make much since to me that fish on one side of bridge is contaminated and not on the other but hey I just try to obey the rules not make them. So lets do some catch and release or eat at own risk. NA! if they have the oil in them we would be able to smell it when cleaning'um up! Ran two small trips this past weekend 1 crew from N. Georgia and 1 from Tenn. Both just a good day, just enough to get by on. Few specks but most under size couple nice flounders few white trout an Ground mullet, lady fish an a nice trophy Black Drum or two with a few eater drum. Some really good fishing fixen take place in the Back Bay. Got a big flush with all the rain last week, but the salinity and the fish are returning. Should be able to get on some specks, flounders, reds, white trout, ground mullet, black drum, spanish and lady fish have been hung coming in also. So hey let's do the dang thang! 1/2 day 300 full day 425 covers 4 Lets get the kids out summer break just about over; Thanks to all::::::::::: Capt Robert McDaniel 228-229-6978 www.whipasnapacharters.com

Despite very limited waters more trophy's still hitting the Deck!6-28-10 Started out the week with Mr. Jeff Greenhaw and crew from Fouke, Arkansas. Sharks were on the agenda, but a good rain shower was lurking just offshore, so we stopped and spent a couple of hours on some light tackle action. It was a pretty darn good bite taking place but the rain kept spreading and it finally got us, it was moving very slow and getting bigger so we opted to just try the sharks the next day. Started out Wednesday morning on one of my favorite reefs and nothing was happening so on to the chumming spot, and even that started out pretty slow, but we had to tell ourselves "chum and the sharks will come". And sure enough took about an hour or so and started getting some good black tips. And all of a sudden this slick that was just to the West of us started moving our way. And I about cried, yes it was the oil! Tar balls had us surrounded! That pretty much ended that day (sorry). Friday, Mr. Mickey Leflore returned with a young gun, who he wanted to experience some of the action he had just weeks prior. And I tell ya they put it on'um pretty good. Nice trophy black drum, reds, specks, and flounder. Saturday, we were limited pretty much to the Back Bay. And Mr. Walter Ketchen from Jackson, brought 3 buddies from Brandon,Ms. We had a pretty tough day, fished hard and caught black drum, specks, white trout, ground mullet, reds, and flounder, but only 1 or 2 of each. Sunday, we were back to reeling'um in, Mr. Josh Windham along with Tom, Ben and Tiffany Windham from Brandon, Ms. had some pretty good fish. Mrs. Tiffany really showed the boys a thing or 2! Red and Black Drum Speckle trout, Flounder and several nice White trout and Ground mullet all surrendered to the Windham crew. They were going to take some of their catch over to SHAGGY`S and have it cooked for them.(let me know how it was) Thanks so much for the good times! Oil is here and it is heart wrenching. I felt obligated to try in get everyone that was booked in if they were coming an Sunday was the last trip on the books. Gone try very hard to go to work with VOO program so maybe the last report. Thanks again to all who trust in the Whipasnapa for your good times boating! Guess gone have to put the new WhipaSnapa in that mess to survive an when that happens no more trips. Thanks again to everyone for all the very thoughtful concerns. And for coming and supporting us anyway!!!!!!!!!! Capt Robert McDaniel 228-229-6978 www.whipasnapacharters.com

Large Sharks attack WhipperSnappers off Biloxi,Ms Coast: 6-21-10 Mr. Reeves from Brandon, Ms. called on the WHIPASNAPA this week. Capt. I got a couple whippersnappers that want to pick a fight with a few sharks. Think we can? Why sure! Probably need to start lil early cause battling Mr. Shark mid day in this heat could be dangerous. We started out at dawn. Stopped at bridge for about hour, where Mrs. Reeves landed her a nice red. They also landed some trout, drum, croakers. Then we ran to the reef outside Deer Island where a good bite on white trout and ground mullet was on. Them ground mullet fight good, taste good and make a excellent bait also, especially for the shark and big reds. Got enough for couple good fry's and a few extras for bait and moved on to do the shark thing. About 20 min's. or so on the chomper and things started happening. The 1st few were the Atlantic sharpnose which excited them pretty good. But we needed some a lil bigger. About an hour had passed when got a couple them alarming clicker runs, where you know its something big, but no connection. Then finally the fight was on. And it was a good one. Oh Yea! now that's what we looking for . Before we could land that one another rod went off and yes we have ourselves another fight on and just about time we thought had everything under control yet another one went off. And this is where things started to get a lil hairy, cause Mr. Garrett the youngest whipper grabbed it and didn't take long and in come the white towel. Man this just a lil much for me. Finally got the first one in and Taylor had to go straight into another very intense battle. All 3 sharks (70 to 90lbs) eventually winded up in the bottom of the WHIPASNAPA awaiting their ride to shore and their place on the grill. Mr. Taylor says marinade that SHARK in Italian dressing and red wine vinegret over night and yum yum yum! Thanks to all great time: never thought would just be reporting on 1 or 2 trips a week in mid June. But canceled 4 offshore trips so felt pretty good to pick up couple. Run some surveyors out to Horn Island. Come on down keep this Capt. boating. Ain't to pretty but we sure looking good! Capt Robert McDaniel 228-229-6978 www.whipasnapacharters.com

TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS STILL GOING STRONG & LOADING UP ON FISH! To date the oil has stayed out of my fishing grounds, and the bite has been good with a variety of fish. You name it, a bit of everything including: redfish, white trout, flounders, speckled trout, black drum, ground mullet, and sheepshead have been adding to the inshore fish catching fun. Just yesterday on a half-a-day afternoon 3 clients caught and/or released 20 redfish in the Back Bay od Biloxi aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and the white trout bite is on fire too. There are just way to many pictures and trips to report here at this time, but you can go to my web site at www.teambrodiecharters.com to check out all of the great catches as of late. Fishing is excellent inshore, and I am running steady. Come and get in on some light tackle fishing fun aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Mom goes fishing and a Back Bay light tackle EXTRAVAGANZA! 6-14-10 Well, been fishing a long time and had a chance to do something this week that I never done before (unless I was to young to remember), my mom jumped aboard the WHIPASNAPA, said she wanted to go fishing. She tells me right off "I'm not getting up to early!", and "I'm not going to be out in that sun to long!" and "I want to catch one of them big o'l fish that been seeing on web-site!" Boy; you talk about pressure!!! Got about 3 hours out of her in which time all demands were accomplished! And she handled that stick like a pro I tell ya! Caught fish on about every cast. She put the hurt on several trout, drum and then come her o'l big fish like been seeing on web-site. After about a 20 min smack down performance, she was holding dat sucker up for her photo. She said hers was BIGGER than all the others. Sure was mom!! Love Ya! Mr. Mickey Leflore probably the Snapa's most long time fishing partner, came in to town. Mickey's been fishing with the Snapa from the 1st year booking 3 or 4 yearly, but they have all been offshore snapper trips. and was really looking forward to the TUNA trips this year. Capt. he said I've never got to fish light tackle with ya, since the rest of my crew not going to make it for the offshore trip and its closed anyway, lets leave the big poles at home and do some inshore fun! I love to eat fish and gal does to so guess better try to put some up. We did release a few reds and black drum just to keep the good karma going. Tried to let him have all the fun, but I finally had to jump in there! We boated 6 nice specks, 6 slot reds, NUMEROUS really nice white trout, ground mullet, 25 or so black drum and as we were wrapping up our 5hr. Back Bay Extravaganza we were short a flounder. All of a sudden a big flat fish was on hook approaching the net an he got away(6 inches from the net) would have made a great day even greater. Great time! Thanks so much to all! Hope to keep boating and catching! All this action is happening just minutes from dock barely have time to even plane off. All fish are in an biting--specks, reds, spanish and more. An this light tackle stuff is really fun, just ask ol' Mick. The oil is getting close and scary, but hey it's open North of Island chain for now so moan aboard. Let's boat! Inshore/Marsh Fishing

An Absolutely Fintastic Couple Days Fishing off Biloxi, Ms. Gulf Coast! 6-7-10 Well, with a whole week of long and well anticipated WHIPASNAPA snapper trips shot. At least a couple of die hard's just wanted to still get away, and have their strings pulled. Started out Wednesday, with Chad Flanders from Florida and Steven Burson from Tupelo, who caught a couple sharks aboard the WhipaSnapa last year and said it was probably his favorite fish cooked on the grill. Think we can catch some Capt? Absolutely! So I put the number 1 WHIPASNAPA inshore trip on him, 3 hrs. light tackle, 3 hrs med./heavy. Ms. Abbi Galloway from Tupelo, who came along just to kinda check things out. Said she had never caught a fish, well it didn,t take long for her to land the 1st and with many more to follow she said this is a darn blast! They hammered the trout, ground mullet and croakers. We moved on to the Island for some chumming, where it did not take long for the sharks and ray's to move in and around the boat we went some of the bigger sharks took um around 4 or 5 times. Their poor arms were hurting and shaking so bad could hardly hold fish up for a photo opp.! Run Mr. Bobby Cleveland of the Clarion Ledger and some lovely ladies from the Sun Herald out to Petit Bois Island Thursday for a lil' photo op., couldn't fish but it was sure tempting.(see clarion ledger for more on that) Saturday one of the Snapa's most highly regarded customers Mr. Garrett Hill who books probably 4 a year and keeps a steady flow of new WIPPAS coming, said they wanted to battle some them big sting rays heard they were bad BUTTS! Think we can catch some of them Capt? Absolutely! So once again the 3 hr light tackle and 3 hrs med/heavy was in order. First we stopped at the bridge and they put the hurt on some black drum, which (to me and them too now!) eats as good as the darn red snapper! It's true! But anyway, trout, red fish, croakers, black drum made some pretty darn good steady action. Even got a couple nice photo drum and on 12lb spin tackle trying to keep them out the bridge it is nail biteing to say the least (see photo gallery). On the chumming, well, trust me they bowed to the mighty string ray that is one bad son of a gun! They landed a couple 140 to 160 lb rays it wasn't easy but they hung in there and did it . One took more then an hour to get it up in the boat. As we ended the day you could cast your live croaker( which we keep plenty of) just hold the pole and the big red drum were hitting like trout or something double hook ups, and as soon as it hit the water: what a bang for your buck hun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks to all! For depending and trusting in the Snapa for a day on the water and to put you on the fish regardless! Just hoping to continue fishing and spending the day on the WhipaSnapa, catching what ever is brave enough to bite the ol mighty hook.So far still able to fish inside the Islands were its as good as ever flounder, trout, reds blackdrum and its spanish time also which on light tackle is a blast! so hey; come on down load up and let's do this dang thing! Offshore/Rig Fishing

Gotta love that grouper! Offshore and Inshore bites strong this week! 5-31-31 Happy Memorial Day! Just the way that Darn WHIPASNAPA likes it! Yea, the fish God's shined on us pretty good this week, in 2 offshore fishing trips (in very limited waters) boated 16 GAG groups with 11 making the trip home aboard the Whipasnapa, all 8 to 12 lb range. If ya know what I know that's some fine grub. (Thanks for tipping the Capt. a filet!) Guess we caught about 3 to 4 off them extinct red snapper to every 1 grouper (all released safely), all 10 to 15 lbs. Went through about 100 croakers, an 50 lb of poggies but hey got a couple 100 more on stand by. Throw in a few really nice mangrove snapper, some sharks, kings and few trigger and we had our self a couple fine days! Even thou we could not keep the red snapper, box looked pretty good. One was suppose to be a tuna trip and of course those are out. Thanks for coming anyway, and take care of the Snapper Hickey's (little bruises under the arm).Ha!Ha! Mrs. Richard brought her two young boys over and they put a hurt on the trout and ground mullet. They really had a ball with a fish on just about every cast an even a few doubles. An of course I love taking the young whippas too. So did the Rommel crew. Another father son crew from Washington St.. They had a few bonus fish, with a fat flounder and a really nice black drum for a picture fish. Had another Big ol' drum but our light tackle just couldn't quite keep him out the bridge! Looks like going to be alright on the snapper. Oil still missing us here on the Ms. Gulf Coast. But boy its still very depressing what has happened out there. But hey lets enjoy while we can. Got a few week / days open if want jump aboard and see what you can battle and load up on the WHIPASNAPA. She feeling better this week smiling an purring like a kitten. I love being on the new boat think you will too! So give us a shout. And let's do this Damn Thing! Thanks to all! Capt Robert McDaniel 228-229-6978 www.whipasnapacharters.com

BOOK A TRIP NOW...WE ARE OPEN FOR BUSINESS...AND HAVEN'T CANCELLED A TRIP DUE TO OIL YET! Since my last posting things have been going well despite the oil looming in the Gulf of Mexico. Ran 5 out of the last 8 days and would have ran Saturday, but my lower unit went bad. Philip Bond of Crown Leisure Marine fixed it for me on the same day...talk about service. However, fishing has remained excellent and the bite on white trout has been on fire. Managed to catch some really nice specks at the barrier islands during the full moon, and the bay bite on redfish, sheepshead, black drum, and specks has been good too. For detailed reports and pictures of my clients fish go to my web site at www.teambrodiecharters.com. To date the inshore and barrier island fishing has been excellent, and as long as this oil stays offshore the inshore fishing should stay hot. So come on down and put this man to work..I am setting on go. By the way, I am booked June 3, 4, 5, and 6, but I have plenty of openings on the following week. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Wow...no one posting here for a while. May be the oil threat? Well anyway, I've been running on a regular basis as usual, and not for the oil situtation it might have been a banner month. To date, no oil on these shores thank God! Let's keep our fingers crossed! Fished Saturday and Sunday with return clients and they had really good luck with the white trout and ground mullet. On Saturday I had Wes Guymon and Jason Thornton from Tupelo, Ms and the two men hammered the white trout and ground mullet. Put 95 in the box, and added a fine Florida pompano to boot. The barrier islands were slow for us today, and not much activity as the past few trips. On Sunday it was John Baxter and his son William, as well as Andrew Williams and his son Henry. These were very young boys, but they fished hard putting 60 or so nice white trout on ice, and had a ball with stingrays, hardhead catfish, and gafftopsail catfish. It was a great fathers and sons experience, and the dads had priceless memories to share with their young sons. John has fished with me on other trips, and we always seem to have a really good time on the water. The hot fish after fish action came using popping corks and live shrimp and menhaden. The boys got a kick out of watching those brightly colored corks take the plunge, and we left the biting like crazy. Oh yeah it's hot out there, and it was the first time I've really felt like summer was upon us. Bottom line, the fish are biting, the weather has been nice for the most part, and the oil has been staying away. So come on down and book a light tackle fishing trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and be sure to bring the kids. Call (228) 697-7707

Since the last reports regarding the big sheepshead spawn at the barrier islands, well, much of our fishing has been conducted in the nearshore and inland waters. Not due to oil, but mostly due to windy weather. As far as the oil is concerned TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS hasn't missed a beat, and continues to run steady. The barrier islands have been producing a few big redfish each trip, plenty of white trout, and some reall big Spanish mackerel. Bluefish are on the flats too, and the Florida pompano have finally showed up on the shallow flats and bars. Flounders, white trout, a few specks & redfish, and black drum are showing up in good numbers in the bays too. It's all good, and if we can keep that mass of oil away fishing will continue to be great. So come on down to Biloxi, Ocean Springs, or Gulfport, Mississippi and book a light tackle fishing trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for some fish, fun, and sun. PS: The only days I have open this week are Tuesday and Wednesday unless there is a cancellation. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Hey Guys - hat is everyone thinking about the fishing this year? I am in KY, and a couple times a year bring a group of business owners down for fishing on one of the charter boats. We have always had a fantastic time, but this whole oil spill mess is causing us to consider how it will impact our plans. We expect to be down the first week of June near the islands. What is the general feel for what is going on there, other options, what is everyone thinking they will do. By the way, I feel horrible for you guys, I know this is going to screw with your livelihood big time. I hope and trust that you will find other avenues for your profession, other fishing grounds, and the like. Try to deal with the stress the best you can, and have faith, your customers who believe in you may make short term plans elsewhere till the mess is straightened out giving you breathing room to think and develop other plans, but they will be back. Thanks to all you guys who make this sport available to those of us who would not be able to enjoy it without you. You are in our thoughts and prayers while dealing with this mess.

Biologists at the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) in Ocean Springs, Mississippi need your help now more than ever! The oil slick is already in an area of high whale shark occurrence. Based on their feeding mechanisms and the amount of time they spend feeding at the surface, an interaction with this oil could be fatal to these sharks. It is pivotal to monitor the presence and distribution of whale sharks in the northern Gulf of Mexico at this time! If you encounter a whale shark, please help by participating in GCRL’s ONLINE WHALE SHARK SIGHTINGS SURVEY. To Report a Sighting: Please complete the survey at www .usm. edu/gcrl/whaleshark Information that is helpful to us includes: • Time and duration of encounter • Location (GPS coordinates) • Approximate size and number of sharks • Observed behavior • Associated species • Photos/video (especially of the region behind the gill slits on the left side of the animal—this is used for identification) • Any other distinguishing features (i.e. numbered marker tags located behind the dorsal fin—please notate number) Your participation is greatly appreciated and vital to a better understanding of whale shark movements and habitat in the Gulf of Mexico. Biloxi fishing: Grouper on the Wrecks! Cobia on the Bars! 4-12-10 What a week, that WhipaSnapa been slaying 'um son! Mr. Champion and sons came Monday and got on some red's about, 45lb black drum and a bucket of white trout and ground mullets. On Tuesday Mrs. Angie and 5 crew, well we just got in a couple hrs fishing 101. Casting, reeling an anything, was a bonus. We did manage 25 or so white trout and ground mullet's etc. Wednesday, Mr. Cunningham and sons wanted to go offshore, it was a lil rough to say the least, we did make it out to the wrecks, right behind Horn Island, 8 miles or so, first spot for sure. looking for some groupers to feed some nice golden croakers that I'd been saving up. Kind of tough to keep your feet under ya. We did manage 5 groupers, a king, several endangered red snapper and some triggers. The fellows took the grouper filets over to Shaggy's and had them cook it up. Said it was fantastic! Friday I invited them to go check the chumming on the bar, action out, much better day, we spotted 2 actually had one take a bait right on top 5 ft from the boat 1 was just a drive by! But enough to go back Saturday, landed 4 got to keep 2 (1-45:1-24). And couple more drive bys we saw 6 total. They are here!!! More cobia next couple weeks, ground mullet and white trout should stay strong. Blacktips should show this week, reds will be running with them also. Booked up for the 1 day shootout and the 3 day Gornflo's tournaments. A good trip would be about 4 hrs on the wrecks for some grouper and about 4 hrs on bar or running around for the cobia!! Moan Down! So let's go! Capt Robert McDaniel Whipasnapa Charters 228-229-6978

HUGE SHEEPSHEAD DOMINATE WEEK'S BIG BITE! Last week was a busy one, and a week of fishing the big spawn run of sheepshead. March was an excellent month for catching the reds at the barrier islands, but April started out with a bang hauling in the huge barrier island sheepshead. Although there are no limits on these fish and they are in the surf by the thousands, we kept the creel down to 15 to 20 fish a day. This was some really spectacular sight fishing, and it's sort of like casting to 4 to 10-pound red snapper in 1 to 2-feet of water. And doing so with 10-pound-test spinning gear makes for some exciting and fun light tackle angling. How long it will last I am not for sure, but we'll keep after them until they disperse from the huge schools. Caught a couple of Florida pompano too, as well as small sharks, and seen a couple of jack crevalles and nice cobia passing by, out of casting range of course. Of course white trout and ground mullet are on all of the reefs now, both inshore and near shore, and that's catching a fish on practically every cast when the bite turns on. But the bottom line is the waters are heating up nicely, and fishing is about to get really hot here in south Mississippi. With cobia, Spanish mackerel, speckled trout, and tripletail coming it'd definately time to get ready to fish! People are booking trips in advance, so if you have a particular date in mind I would suggest booking them now. Having trouble getting pictures up upload here, so I would suggest checking out my web site at www.teambrodiecharters.com. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Hi Guys. I have a few questions. This is my first year with a big boat, 26ft. I have fished trout and reds around the islands for years. I still love it, but we want to plan some trips to the Chevron rigs and the triple rigs. I just want to ask for any tips on what is biting in April and what is my best bet for bait? I know Snapper and Cobia should be moving. What about Kings and Triple Tail? I need to continue to educate myself. Thanks for any help and advice.

Yes, I know it has been a while since my last report, but I've been quite busy catching fish. First of all, the water temperature here in south Mississippi is warming up nicely, and all sorts of fish are moving in. Since the last report my clients have caught all sort of fish including all of the white trout and ground mullet they dare to reel in, redfish, black drum, scores of big sheepshead, flounders, a few big specks, as well as the first Florida pompano of the season, a fine 20-inch specimen. For example, on my last trip, Bill Storey from Texas got a good dose of south Mississippi fishing TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS style, and caught 2 black drum including a huge 40-pound specimen, 70 white trout on soft-plastic baits as fast as he could drop down (the baits never made it to the bottom the fish were so thick, and we left them biting), all of the big sow sheepshead in the 4 to 8-pound-class he could battle in 1 to 2 feet of crystal clear water (Bill caught a big one on his fly rod too), as well as the first Florida pompano of the year. The big pompano was caught on a free lined live shrimp, and we actually got to witness the pomp chase the live shrimp across the surface before he engulfed the fleeing crustacean. What a cool sight! For some excellent photography of our latest catches be sure to check out my web site at www.teambrodiecharters.com. Catching the first pompano was a real thrill, and a sign I've been waiting on for months now. Soon good numbers of these fish will be prowling the barrier island's shallow flats in a foot or 2 of water, and you can bet TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS will be there to catch the extremely hard fighting and delicious fish. By the way, my 2170 Blazer Bay is an ideal boat for fishing pompano (stable with a shallow draft), and my technique for finding and catching them is really a lot of fun. Last year we literally put hundreds of these fish in the boat, and if you've never fished for Florida pompano you are really missing out on a unique fish, a species that TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS specializes in. Hey, if you've been putting off fishing due to the cold weather, well, now is the time to book a trip and catch a mess of fish aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. And if you want to show your kids a good time let's take them to the white trout reefs for some fast paced light tackle action. By the way, be sure to check out one of my latest articles in the Spring issue of Harold Wells Gulf Coast fisherman, "Mississippi Barrier Island's Pompano Paradise", and hope you enjoy it. Spring Breakers take mixed bag on the Gulf Coast! 3-22-10 The Islands were HOT! this week. Horn Island with the ground mullet, Ship Island for the reds,Deer Island with the white trout and Back Bay for the sheepsheads and more reds! March madness has been in full strut aboard the Whipasnapa, fished everyday this week. Fishing heating up, can't say the same about the weather?! The ground mullet are a little small but tasty and plenty of them, glad they finally showing up. White trout at Deer Island, about the same as mullet, small but good. Quite a few reds in Bay, 18 to 22in range, which is the good eating ones with the sheepsheads. Large reds at Ship Island has been consistent in the shallows. Had two trips with the young anglers, the ground mullet and white trout got them going. Fishing good so lets get them kids on the boat. Not many picture fish this week, lost 2 really nice black drum in Bay that almost got their picture taken. Got another week to take advantage of the March Madness special, the reds should hang in at Ship Island with a consistent bag of white trout and ground mullet Capt Robert McDaniel Whipasnapa Charters 228-229-6978 www.whipasnapacharters.com captain@whipasnapacharters.com

MARCH 20, 2010 - TEAM BRODIR CHARTERS CONTINUES TO CATCH BULL REDFISH! Yeah, I know it has been a while since my last report but I've been busy...BUSY CATCHING FISH! The redfish bite at the barrier islands has been hot the entire month, and slot fish to the big 40-inch specimens have been running the beaches in huge schools. Needless to say the sight fishing has been phenominal, and catches on light tackle has simply been a blast. For example yesterday Don Sipp from Ocean Springs, MS, landed 6 bull reds aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, the day before that the Ron Smith group from Hattiesburg, MS caught their 9 fish limits, and the day before that John Sullivan from Georgia and his son Kiah caught 6 big fish as well as 110 white trout and ground mullet. The fishing has been excellent all month long on good weather days, and casting to hundreds and hundreds of fish in the gin clear water is breathtaking. White trout and ground mullet are showing up good on the deeper sites out at the barrier islands, and soon they will invade our inshore waters by the millions. Soon tripletail and Florida pompano will be showning up too, and it's about to break loose down here with all sorts of top-notch fishing. In the last few days the water clarity at the barrier islands has been excellent, simply sparkly clear, and the compact schools of reds can be seen moving over 100 yards away. Don't know how long this world-class sight fishing is going to last, but will fish the big schools as long as people want to witness this exciting type of angling. So book a trip now aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and create some fishing memories of your own. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. March 5, 2010 - BIG REDFISH & BLACK DRUM PROWLING BARRIER ISLANDS! - Had another great trip yesterday with comeback clients Don Sipp and his uncle Jay. On their last trip they put the smack on big "yellow-mouth" white trout, black drum, and sheepshead in the Back Bay of Biloxi, but this time it was a run out to the barrier islands for a lot bigger quarry. The gentlemen found thier light tackle challenge with big redfish and hefty black drum, all on 10-pound-test spinning tackle. It was sight fishing at its best, and before it was over the men landed 2 bull reds as well as 4 big drum. Early on water clarity was poor, but it cleared up a bit later in the day. However, winds picked up later on making it hard to sight fish, so we called it a day with 6 big fish. Fish weren't as thick as they were few days ago, but overall conditions to see them wasn't nearly as good today. I've got next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday booked up, with the rest of the follwing week open except for Saturday 20th. Interested in enjoying some of this sight fishing? Our Last Crew That Went To Guatemala With STRIKE ZONE CHARTERS P. Hanberry Hattiesburg, MS USA Just got back from a family vacation to Guatemala last week. Thanks to Capt. Gary Bonanno for putting us on the trip of a lifetime. He took care of all arrangements. While there, we were able to fish for a day and a half. On the first day we raised 14 sailfish. We caught and released 10 with the largest going around 120 lbs. The highlight was a triple with my wife, daughter and me all successfully landing sails. The second day we fished just outside the surfline and went 5 for 6 on roosterfish. Took in the sites of Tikal, Antigua, Lake Atitlan, and Guatemala City as well. The scenery was awesome. The accomodations and arrangements were exceptional! There were things to do for our entire family! Thanks, Capt. Gary for putting together the perfect trip. Another Overnight Sucess Capt. Charlie Durand and Capt. J.W. Berry departed Sunday from Cypress Cove Marina on a overnight trip with Mr. Myke Whitaker and Mrs. Dana Witte from Texas. They went to do some trolling first and that paid off with two large Wahoo. They fished a while longer and then off to catch the Tuna. Once out to the first stop they began catching Black Fin Tuna. Most didn't make it to the boat whole from the sharks getting a snack on the way up with them. The Black Fin Tuna were thick but no sign of the Yellow Fins. So off to the next stop, there the action seemed to be the same lots of Black Fin and covered with sharks. Capt. J.W. told me that the seas got pretty sloppy around two in the morning and they headed north to where they had caught the Wahoo, and got ready for the morning bite. Once morning came it was different the current was ripping and the water had changed colors. They fished a while and then decided to go a catch Amber Jacks. Those came with ease, with the Amber Jacks in the boat and the seas picking up Capt. Charlie pointed the boat to the north and ran in. At the dock the real weight could be set for these two big Wahoo that they caught on their trip. They weighed 104 pounds and 84 pounds and also had a mess of Black fin and Amber jacks to fill the coolers up with. And as it seems Mr. Myke will have some new friends in Texas when he hands out Wahoo to his buddies that didn't get to come along on the trip with them. Oops...I forgot to mention the guys from southern Illinois I took out Friday. Don't want to leave anyone out. The gentlemen were Scott Favell, Steve Berkemeier, and John Brayfield. Water clarity was good, and the redfish were on the prowl. Tossing jigs (Mr. Champs, Salt Water Assassins, Berkley Gulps, and Cocahoe on 5/8-ounce jig heads) it was easy pickings. However, they could have probably tossed them a hot dog and caught fish. The men landed 6 beautiful redfish and missed a few, but the winds picked up and it got cloudy (poor sight fishing conditions) so we ran back to the mainland and picked up a couple of sheepshead to end the outing. Life is good in south Mississippi. Peace to all and tight lines!

Mississippi Gulf Coast Boat Island and Rig Bound Ms. Gulf Coast fishing finally getting to Barrier Islands and rigs a little. The Whipasnapa Charter boat got to get out and go to Ship Island,Friday Feb. 26,2010. Went to investigate the Island a bit an scooped up a limit of reds plus a couple. The over 30 inch ones was no problem to find but, on light tackle a slight problem. The under 30 inch was a bit harder to find. Found a couple nice sheepshead on a wreck close by, also was holding the two under reds for the limit. Sunday the 29th, run out to the rigs finally, a bit chilly, so got a later start then I like. An the winds where up a little that morning, so had to take it easy to keep from getting wet. First stop was getting bait, but you would have thought we were inshore, white trout two at a time, croakers, reds two at a time, and the old hard head catfish. Had to catch most everything on the big 9oz butterfly jigs, and they can wear you out, but quite worth it! We also caught gag grouper (12 to 14lb), small amberjack, lesser amberjack, speckle hind grouper, spanish mackerel, shark, few 10lb to 15lb red snapper, trigger fish and bluefish as we were coming in. The seas where calm and the sunset was beautiful. As the the gorgeous full moon rose it wrapped up a wonderful day on the Whipasnapa Charter. Can't wait to go back. Been really busy so I'll make this to the point. Fished Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and two of those days out to the barrier islands delivered world-class sight fishing for redfish. Huge schools everywhere, and my clients simply had the time of their lives. On Saturday I took Mississippi's Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant in the bay for a few hours, and he caught all 4 fish that were landed. A couple of hefty sheepshead, and a small redfish provided the action on that cold and windy morning. This was intended to be more of a get to know one another trip for me and Charles Porter that set up the outing, and we're planning more adventures once the weather warms up. On Sunday the redfish were simply swarming, and Jim Conn and his father John easily caught their limits, and released fish too. We were back to the D'Iberville Marina before noon. Listen...if you want some of this action be sure to call me now, well, at least after this latest cold front pushed through. Right now the fish are there for the taking so let's take advantage of this great run of redfish. Be sure to check out my web site for all of the great photos! Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. BULL REDS AND HUGE BLACK DRUM PROWLING BARRIER ISLAND'S FLATS NOW! Just finished up two days of fishing at the barrier islands, and bull reds and big black drum provided the action. On Thursday Greg Hurst, Steve Johnson, and Michael "The Outlaw" Walker boxed 5 black drum and 4 redfish, and released a number of bigger fish while fishing aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. It was slick calm and fish were everywhere! On Saturday I had one of my regular clients aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, John Noel from Jackson, MS, and John and I managed to land 3 big reds keeping 2 of them for the dinner table. The fish were there but it got to rough to fish them. Ran back into the bay catching a couple of small black drum and a sheepshead. In all, two excellent days of sight fishing, and a good way to start out the new year. Greg and the guys will be back to fish for Florida pompano with me, and John is always catching all sorts of fish aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Great people and good times, and that's what it's all about! Watch the weather and book me on a calm day to sight fish for these big reds and drum on light tackle. C-Low: You seem to have most of the vital information down, but I tend to catch more of them closer up by the island and bars on a high tide, and on a falling tide move out to the drop offs and color changes in 3 to 6 feet of water. Clear water seems to be the best, but I've actually had some really good catches in murky water. Just have to wet those lines! Also, when the crabs are spawning on the bars, and the big schools of cow nose rays are there you can bet I'll be fishing for them then. It's a killer time to be hunting pompano. I have a Florida pompano article coming out in the Spring issue of Harold Wells Gulf Coast Fisherman that might be helpful too. And yes, any of the major points will hold fish at times. Last year was a good one for pompano, specializing in catching pompano has been good for TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and I hope this year will be productive too. Good luck and keep me informed of you pompano catches. By the way, I want to do some exploring on the big bars off the east end of Horn Island, endless killer looking spots for the tasty pomps.

To Mr. Brodie, i am wanting to try to catch a few pompano at the islands this year. I dont want you to give away your secrets but i need a little help as to where to fish. I am guessing anywhere on the south side of horn or ship island is good. What about the points? Also, what kind of water am i looking for? Do i just fish where the water meets the beach? or should i try to find a bar of about 4-8 feet where the water drops off more around it.Such as the contrasting dark and clear water spots south of the ilsands. The latter is my main concern:water depth thanks

I just wanted to share this email with my fishing friends::::: From: Scott Hartley (mscotthartley@sbcglobal.net) Sent: Wed 1/13/10 2:55 PM To: 'Gary Bonanno' (strikezonecharter@hotmail.com) 1 attachment Gary and Edgar, I wanted to thank you for the great trip to Guatemala last week. As you know, we released 54 sailfish over three days, with two days with over 20 releases each. This is by far the best trip in terms of numbers that I have had in Guatemala. I know they can be much higher, but this was among the top in the fleet for this particular period, and was certainly plenty for us. However, the service provided by the Strike Zone Crew made it a special trip in addition to releasing a lot of fish. Some examples include: - The captain and crew were quite solid. As I mentioned, I believe we were among the top few boats in the fleet on at least two of the three days, and if we were not on the third day it was due to angler error. More significantly, they were able to handle a diverse group of anglers ranging from very experienced to first time ever saltwater fishing of any kind. They fully supported our request to bait and hook the fish, even with the less experienced anglers that may not have been as fast to the rod. - The food was very good, both at the house and on the boat. The casa was quite nice, as was the service there. - The 40’ boat came in handy on the last day, when we had unusually rough seas for Guatemala. We were among the last to return to the marina that day. I presume most other boats came in early, and the smaller boats in the fleet may not have gone out. - We have never done anything much but fish on our trips. The last night and morning in Antigua was very “easy” to do, and it was an extraordinary end to an already good trip. - The small touches Strike Zone and Fish 4 Reel provides including providing two local cell phones to allow for cost effective calls home, providing Internet access, handling my advance request for cigars, and providing details on what to expect, customary tips, etc. are much appreciated, and help to distinguish you from most of the operations we have fished with over the years. Thanks again. The only thing I would change is to have a few marlin around in the mix, but they just were not there for the entire fleet this trip. Maybe next time! Sincerely, Scott, Ashok, E.B., and Steve Scott took some awesome pictures that I will share with you..... This will get you fired UP...I can't say enough about Guatemala.....IT IS GREAT~~~~Thanks SCOTT and CREW STRIKE ZONE CHARTERS LOUISIANA & GUATEMALA ~~~~~225~279~3800 CELEBRATING OVER 21 YEARS IN THE CHARTER BUSINESS www.strikezonecharters.net

Offshore Fishing Reports from Venice and Guatemala Venice: Capt Kevin Aderhold had a day trip last Friday but had to run all over the Gulf to find good water with NO SHARKS....They had two Yellowfin and one Blackfin Tuna. The sharks gave them hell, but they had a good group from south Florida and they will be back for a 24hr trip in June on the 55' Strike Zone Too. We guaranteed them a lot of Yellowfin. Guatemala: I just got back from a wonderful trip to Antigua, Guatemala. My wife is a nurse anesthetist and she goes to Antigua as part of the Knoxville Medical Mission every year. This year the group helped about 60 people get needed operations. My son Christopher and I escorted her and I managed to slip out on Wednesday to fish with a group of guys that were in Guatemala for a wedding. What a bunch of nice guys from Alabama. Justin Schilling, Mike Harlan, Brandon Harlan and a friend. When we got down to the marina the wind was blowing about 25 kts....I didn't think we were going to make the trip...But our new captain, Joel/Hercules said let's go....and off we went.....we were leading the pack of charter boats out of the marina....most of the boats were hugging the coast but our Captain elected to go right into the seas on the Strike Zone.... As we looked back, five boats out of the fleet were heading back...He, like the American captains, just love to fish that boat. It catches a lot of billfish and takes the sea very well. We dropped our lines when we were 15 miles out and after 20 minutes we had our first Sail...The guys could not believe the fight and show that Sailfish preformed for us....We were in nonstop action all day...we ended up going 14 for 19 on Sails and three Bull Dolphin....three times we had two Sails on at one time and one time we had a triple. The group with Scott Hartley had fished the day before for three days on the Strike Zone and they had a total of 58 Sails in three days... Total Sails in four days was 72....The Strike Zone has been out catching the fleet in Guatemala when it is out fishing. "To looking for answers" Personally, I like to fish the back side of structue where I can get into some sort of slack water. Calmer the better, and vertical fishing means you'll have better feel of the bite, and a quicker reaction on the hook set. Quite often the fish will lurk behind and really tight to the structure when the tide is running really hard, especially on corners where the current is making eddies. Of course I do have honey holes where fishing the upside current can be good too, and of course if one side dosn't produce then try the other. You'll find redfish and flounder in those same spots too. Also, try placing the bait on the bottom, and then slowly work it up through the water column around the pilings and various other structure. Be patient and wait for that quick thump of the rod tip. A small live shrimp is deadly for this method. Lately the rising tide has been most productive, and that's good because it's generally during mid morning when the temps are a bit warmer. Oh yeah, keep a rod rigged with braided line for the ultimate in sheepshead bite detection. It does make a difference! NOW BACK TO TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS LATEST ADVENTURE! Today aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS I had the privledge to guide Dr. Keith Goodfellow and Attorney Brehm T. Bell to a morning of diving duck hunting on a wind swept Mississippi Sound. Guided Keith to a fun morning of Florida pompano fishing this summer too, and after two seasons he finally managed to schedule a diving duck hunt. The stiff southeast winds produced an above average high tide, and had water coming into the blind, but it all added to the excitement of the hunt. However, the stiff winds had the redheads and bluebills on the move, and despite missing a number of easy shots, well, we still managed to bag 5 bluebills and 3 redheads. The guys each shot over a box of shells, and had a blast in the process. Remember, Mississippi's duck season will close on January 31, 2010, and after that it's back to fishing "full speed ahead". In response to Looking For Answers, i have found that a majority of the time it often doesnt matter which side you are on vs. tidal movement. I do like to be on the up current side of structure so my line will stay tight and close to the strucure. I have been fishing bottom structure the past month and have caught hundreds of black drum and sheeps. I will say this, a rising tide makes all the difference for me, and a good tidal movement at that, anywhere from a foot plus of tide movement and the bite will be good. Dont be afraid of tieing up to the structure, esp if you want to catch sheeps, a swaying boat means slack in the line, as soon as the bait stealers decide to bite it will be too late. Hope this helps.

Capt. Brodie, When fishing for black drum and heads around bridges, does it matter what side of the bridge piles you are on depending on the tide?

DUCK HUNTING & FISHING PROVIDES YEAR-ROUND ADVENTURES ABOARD "TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS!" My hunt on Friday wasn't a stellar one by any means. The three guys from Georgia bagged only two ducks, and in the process missed out on a lot of opportunities. Oh well, that's hunting, and as I always say, "I can take you to the ducks, but I can't make you kill them." Never the less, we had a lot of fun believe it or not, and they will be back next season for another shot at the redheads and such. However, ran a duck hunting trip on Sunday with Dr. Randy Patrolia from Hattiesburg, MS, and this time the results were much better. Using the Ron Bankes one-man layout boat, both Randy and I shot our limits of redheads and bluebills, and got back early enough to catch the football play offs. One thing for sure it was an extreme hunt gunning in southwest winds in excess of 30 knots at times. Yet the ducks were on the move and eager to pile into the decoys, a great experience. Randy has hunted with me for a couple of seasons now, and is truly a pleasure to hunt with...easy going...good humored...and a great shot. Well, I still had enough energy left to take my regular client Don Thomason and Capt. Hal Lowman from Alabama on a fishing trip on Monday. Don wanted to introduce Hal to some of my inshore bottom fishing, and the guys had a blast hauling in nice sheepshead and black drum. Their total take home catch (released a number of fish) was 6 nice sheepshead, as well as 21 black drum. It was a fun trip as usual, and Hal helped me clean the fish back at the D'Iberville Marina. Now that's easy money! Remenber duck season ends on January 31, 2010 so book that late season hunt now, and as usual fishing trips are always available aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS 365 days a year.Until next report keep it safe out there and good hunting and fishing! ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT TO BOOK A DIVING DUCK HUNT ABOARD TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS!!! Yeah, that's right, time is quickly running out because after January 31, 2010 the guided hunts will be over with, and it's back to fishing "full speed ahead". I've reduced the price of the hunts from $450 to $350, thus making it a bit more affordable. For the next 4 days in a row I'll be on the water, and hopefully the ducks and fish will cooperate. Its been 11 days since I've been on the water, and eager to get back into the marsh hunting, and back into the bay in search of fish. Hey it's all good! We'll be hunting with a $10,000 dog for a couple of days, and eager to see it in action, as well as get some good pics of the retriever. I'll post them too! A lot of fish (mullet, specks, reds) have been killed due to the extremely cold weather, but some good catches are still trickling in, and that's good news. Some monster 8 to 10-pound fish were scoopped up, and just goes to show what lurks in our coastal bayous in the winter. Looks like bit of a warming trend on the way, so get out there and see what's swimming about...that's what I'll be doing. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS (228) 697-7707

PLEASE KEEP STEVE IN YOUR PRAYERS! Before I mention any reports I would like to let everyone out there know that Capt. Steve West of the charter boat Mr. Champ out of Biloxi, MS had a severe stroke while hunting a few days ago. Steve is one of the finest captains I know and respect, an all around great person, and a true asset to south Mississippi's charter boat industry. So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as he recovers for this illness. Ran duck hunting trips on Saturday and Sunday, and my clients from Gainesville, Florida nearly froze. The guys killed 6 ducks each day including greater scaups, lesser scaups, buffleheads, and a drake redhead. Have to admit the hunting was slow, but they did miss out on a number of good opportunities, and let a big drake canvasback escape unscathed. But as usual the gentlemen were great guys to spent time on the water with, and we had a lot of fun trading hunting and fishing stories. Had my good friend Eddie Jones along to assist with the hunt, and if you know Eddie, well, he had plenty of wild stories to keep us entertained while waithing on the ducks to fly. The full "blue moon" may have had the ducks feeding at night and then resting during the day. I won't be hunting in this exteme cold this week, but will be back on the Mississippi Sound next week to see if the cold weather has chased down some new ducks. Until next report keep it safe out there, and heep Steve and his family in your thought and prayers. Thank you! Capt. Robert L. Finished up a couple of fishing trips starting SATURDAY, the day after Christmas, and it was a good run of black drum that kept the rods constantly bent. Had comeback clients Jim and Pam Gathright from Texas back aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS on Saturday, and this would be purely a catch and release trip. Only fished about two and a half hours, and hit the drum with a really good bite near the end of the trip. They caught and released 25 or so black drum, as well as a few small redfish. Yes it was a cold, windy, and miserable morning, but they caught a lot of fish in a short period of time. On Monday had more comeback clients, the Noah Vaughn group, and these guys wanted plenty of fillets for a fish fry while Noah's dad was in from North Carolina. Well, 1 5-pound sheepshead, a big flounder, and 66 black drum later they men had all of the fresh fillets they needed. By the way, this group of guys set the one day Florida pompano record for 2009 aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, 28 really fine specimens. On TUESDAY, had Tony Watson and his stepson Stephen from Texas on board, and they too caught a mess of black drum. Tony wanted a mess of fish to fry up back home for New Years Day, and man did they have fun hauling them in. Had a big flurry of fish catching on the front beach early, and then another one in Davis Bayou before the trip ended. In all, they boxed 51 black drum as well as 1 nice 3-pound sheepshead. In those three days caught and or released over 180 black drum, and had a winter morning tide and ice on the boat each of those mornings. Bottom line, fished for three days in cold weather, and everyone managed to catch a lot of fine eating fish. Those 3 trips were a great way to end my 2009 season aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and I once again thank everyone for their support for it was truly a remarkable year of outdoor adventures. Now I am getting ready for a number of guided diving duck trips coming up in January 2010, and will be looking for any fishermen out there there that wants to brave the cold and still catch a mess of fish. And yes, I am looking for some adventurous anglers to fish the barrier islands anytime now for the big bull reds during a period of nice calm weather, and maybe even some big white trout on the Mississippi Sound's deeper reefs and rocks. Hey, the adventures never end aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, so be sure to give me a call (228) 697-7707 or shoot me an e-mail at captainbrodie@teambrodiecharters.com, and we'll set up a hunting or fishing adventure of your own. MERRY CHRISTMAS & A HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM "TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS!" - Made another hunt on Wednesday, and this time the winds were out of the southeast 10 to 15 knots. Not as many birds on the move today, but did have a chance at out 3-man limits if we shot a little better. However, my guests Eddie Jones of McHenry, MS and Stephen Ladner of Gulfport, MS and I managed to bag 10 birds including: 4 bluebills, 4 buffleheads, as well as 2 gorgeous drake redheads. Not quite as many birds moving, but a fun hunt never the less. Also, there are still redfish, black drum, sheepshead, and some speckled trout in the Back Bay of Biloxi area for the taking if you want a charter trip after Christmas. No matter if it's shooting ducks or catching fish there is always an adventure waiting for you aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. And by the way, I would like to thank everyone that has fished with me this year. All of you made TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS a big success, and I am already looking forward to another wonderful year of fishing with all of you once again. Hope nothing but the best to all of you in 2010, and have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. DIVING DUCKS STILL ON THE MISSISSIPPI SOUND - Made another 3-man hunt last Friday with Eddie Jones of McHenry, MS and Rob Langlinais of St. Martin, MS, and the results were good once again. We were 3 birds shy of out 16 bird limit, but that's only because we passed on bluebills and buffleheads hoping for more redheads or canvasbacks. However, 13 ducks provided excellent gunning, especially having to shoot into a 15 to 20 knot northerly cross wind. Out final tally included: 1 drake redhead, 4 bluebills, and 8 buffleheads. Have a couple of guided hunts lined up after Christmas, as well as a couple of bay fishing trips. This has been a banner year for TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and my sincerest thanks goes out to all of the wonderful clients that have fish with me this year, as well as in the past years. It's truly a blessing to get paid to take people fishing and duck hunting here in south Mississippi, and believe it or not, I haven't met a client I didn't like yet through all of the adventures. Got a number of fishing trips right after Christmas too, and will be searching the bay for reds, specks, sheepshead, and black drum on those outings. If I've missed wishing any of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year out there, well, I hope all of you have a very blessed, healthy, and happy one. Personally, I am excited about the upcoming 2010 fishing season, and will continue to work hard as possible in making your trips aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS a fun and memorable one. God Bless Everyone, Capt. Brodie

BAGGED OUR 3-MAN 16 DUCK LIMITS TODAY - BOOK YOUR DIVING DUCK HUNT NOW! Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, well, it did! Had my same crew as Friday, Leonard Vergunst and Rob Langlinais, and once again we hammered the diving ducks. Heck, we got the Mississippi Sound "Grand Slam" with a kill of 16 ducks that included " 5 redheads, 1 canvasback, 6 buffleheads, and 6 bluebills. Was limited out by 9:30, and a redhead and canvasback ended our morning of gunning. Could have shot plenty of limits of bluebills and buffleheads, and had 3 or 4 canvasbacks come in but could only take 1. But a great day of duck hunting in south Mississippi never the less! Matter a fact, the ducks were coming in as we were picking up the decoys. And to top it off, a hen redhead was bagged wearing a leg band. It's all good! Got some great photography too, and you can check out all of the fancy edited pics on my web site at www.teambrodiecharters.com. I'll post some pics for you here too! Hey, if you want a shot at these diving ducks don't hesitate to call me at (228) 697-7707 or e-mail me at captainbrodie@teambrodiecharters.com. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. REDHEADS ARE BACK, AND WE BROUGHT BACK OUR 3 LIMITS TODAY! Well I finally got out to the duck hunting grounds today for the first time this season, and was extremely pleased with the results. My hunting partners today were Leonard Vergunst and Rob Langlanais, and we had a great hunt in ideal waterfowl hunting conditions. Birds were on the move all around us, and plenty of big flocks sitting on the water too. Put the smack on the big redheads passing over the set up of 100 decoys, and bagged 6 gorgeous birds, four of them big crimson-headed drakes. Added 4 bluebills and 5 buffleheads to the bag too, and with the redheads taken care of we decided to get home early with birds still on the move. From the looks of things there are plenty of divers down, and now I just need some adventurous hunters to set up a guided trip to shoot them. Any takers...it looks pretty good right now. Look for the pics here, as well as on my web site. TIME TO SHOOT SOME REDHEADS...DON'T WAIT...LET'S DO IT NOW! Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Yesterday I had one client aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, Rodney Atkinson from Freeport, Minnesota, and although the bay was muddy and low, Rodney fished hard and managed to catch some nice redfish, speckled trout, black drum, and sheepshead. The bite in the inner bay was dead, so we moved out to the mouth of the bay where Rodney had a blast catching his 3-fish limit of gorgeous redfish. A couple of black drum and sheepshead added to the action too. Although Rodney eventually landed his 3 fish, a couple of big brutes were lost due to structure on the bay's bottom. From there we ran to the front beach, and using live shrimp and popping corks, Rodney landed 6 fine speckled trout. Despite muddy water, a low tide, and high winds from a norther pushing through Rodney had one of the best fishing trips of his life, and had plenty of fresh fillets for a fish fry while down south on vacation. Hey, there are always fish to be caught year-round here in south Mississippi, and TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS is always ready to take anglers at any time. Getting ready to go duck hunting tomorrow, and hopefull will have a good report soon. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS (228) 697-7707

HEFTY SHEEPSHEAD SAVE THE DAY! Picked up a last minute trip today with Greg Peare, Don Schoening, and Stephen Shadle from Yuma, Arizona, and yes it was cold and windy, but a fishing we must go. Left around 10 am with the tide low and still falling fast, and thus decided to fish the mouth of the Back Bay of Biloxi. Well, it was practically dead out there, and decided to run back into the bay to check out a couple of drum and sheepshead spots. By the time we got to the first spot the tide had gone slack, but by the time we got to the next spot the tide had begun to rise, and the bite began as if the feeding switch had been suddenly turned on. Off one small piece of underwater structure the 3 anglers tossed out live shrimp, and about as fast as they could get the baits on that one chunk of debris well, it was game on with the big and hard fighting sheepshead. Have to admit I was sweating it for a while, but when the bite turned on it was relentless, and the men landed 1 black drum, over 30 sheepshead, and put 25 in the live well. Back at the D'Iberville Marina we wetted down the dock, placed the 25 live sheepshead on display, took a few quick pictures, and then safely released all except for 2 of the biggest fish. A picture will be submitted of the catch! Although it started out slow the short trip ended up in a flurry of fish catching fun. Ended up being an action packed trip after all! DUCK HUNTING TRIPS! Remember, Duck season opens up again on December 9, and runs straight through January 31, 2010, so be sure to give the big-water diving duck hunts a shot aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. To date, I've got December 19th booked for duck hunting, and December 26th and 29th booked for fishing charters. Aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS it's all about the bite and the flight! FINALLY GOT GEARED UP FOR THE DIVING DUCK HUNTS, AND NOW IS THE TIME TO BOOK YOUR TRIP! Yeah I know, I am getting a late start on things this duck season, but the guided fishing trips have been keeping me busy. OK folks, I've got the duck hunting gear ready to go. Had the trailer rerigged with new lights, tires, and wheels for a safe ride to the launch. Got some new bufflehead decoys, and 100 or so decoys loaded in new "wide mouth" bags ready too, the majority of which will be rigged on long lines. Looks like some good duck hunting weather is coming, and I am eager to go kill some ducks, preferably those big crisson-headed redheads. I will be hunting on my own too, so don't let me go down there and shoot all of those big divers. These 2-man full day diving duck hunts go for $450, and that includes myself and an assistant guide to make things run smoothly. Call me, get me fired up, let's go shoot some ducks! Regards, Capt. WINTER FISHING IS COOL! Fished the bay again the day after Thanksgiving, and this time my one man client was John Noel from Jackson, MS, a regular aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. John decided he wanted to give the redfish my clients had been catching, and so it was back to more vertical jigging with live shrimp. Although the bite seemed a bit slow on this outing, John managed to box his limit of 3 nice redfish, 2 fine flounders, 12 sheepshead, and 7 or so black drum. Also, I picked up a last minute trip yesterday afternoon, and the bite in the bay was dead. Ran out to the white trout reefs at the barrier islands, and boxed 40 or so white trout and ground mullet, but that bite was off too! Fished back in the bay on the way home, and managed to box a fine flounder, one sheepshead, and a couple of last minute black drum. Have to admit the bite was funky, and it seemed the fish were just turning on as the sun was setting. Oh well, it looks like this month's tides are going to be excellent, and that's a good thing for us anglers. Have a barrier island bull redfish trip lined up for the first part of this week, but we'll just have to see what this next big cold front is going to do. DIVING DUCK HUNTING!!!!!!! Oh yeah, getting the duck boat geared up this week just incase some of you hard-core hunters want a shot at diving ducks on the Mississippi Sound aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. These are 2-man trips that go for $450 with redheads being the prime species targeted, as well as greater and lesser scaups, buffleheads, and an ocassional canvasback. Ran half-a-day trips on Sunday and Monday, and the inshore bite was excellent. Had the the Jim Underwood group back again, and on Sunday they trolled up 5 nice speckled trout, bottom fished in the bay and boxed 14 big sheepshead, and 14 black drum. Moved to the mouth of the bay, and they ended up the day landing 5 gorgeous redfish, and they lost numerous big fish on submerged structure. On Monday it was to be an extra short outing so it was back after the redfish. The guys landed 5 more fine fish, as well as released plenty of black drum, sheepshead, and small redfish. However, they did box 10 or so big white trout, a fine flounder, and a pretty speckled trout. Both mornings we were in around or before noon. Top-notch short but sweet trips! Sent the guys back to north Alabama with plenty of fresh fish fillets, and looking forward to seeing them back again in the future. The group consisted of Jim Underwood, Jack Underwood, and Sander Tverberg, and all laid back gentlemen fun to fish with. Oh yeah, Sander caught and released a huge drum on 10-pound-test, a 40-pound specimen, and that was an excellent bonus catch. Made a couple of buddy trips in the last few days. Took my brother-in-law Mike Severson to the white trout reef for a quick run, and we easily boxed 80 nice fish. They are still there in big numbers! Yesterday, my friend Kevin Toncrey and I decided to make a late run to the coastal rivers and do a bit of slow trolling. In just a few hours we boxed 14 nice keeper speckled trout, and threw back many fish just under the size limit. By the way, slow trolling for speckled trout is quite relaxing and just plain fun, and if anyone is interested in a charter of this sort just let me know and we'll go troll up some nice speckled trout. And don't forget, redfish and big drum at the barrier islands, white trout on deep reefs, and sheepshead and black drun are in the bays. Plenty of fishing options so book a trip now. My trip for today cancelled and was rescheduled, but I am booked for Sunday and Monday if weather permits. Will report back then. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Just got back in from the barrier islands, and my client Luke Dove from Jackson, MS had the time of his life. Our first stop on a deep white trout reef delivered 114 fine trout, and it was a fish on every drop. Squid or a soft-plastic it didn't matter they were on fire. Matter a fact, we seemed to be missing a lot of fish, but I soon noticed the fish were swallowing the lead weights too. You could see 20 or more fish following the baits and each hooked fish to the surface. On well, I slipped a treble hook by the weight, and sure enough two fish at a time were coming aboard. Caught those in about a hour or so, and decided to go after bigger fish. Well it was a bit slow at first, but before we knew it we were souuronded by redfish in the shallows, and proceeded to land and or release 7 nice fish, as well as 2 big black drum. The weather was simply gorgeous, slick as glass, and water conditions excellent. Top-notch light tackle action, and we were back in by 1:30. Just another magnificent day on the water in south Mississippi! I am open tomorrow, and this sort of action can be had during good weather days. Give me a call, and let's set up a trip you won't forget. I'll post pics here and on my web site soon. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Fished yesterday with comeback clients Patrick and Perry Calhoun from Flowood, MS and the windy conditions has us back in the Back Bay of Biloxi once again. However, managed to get them on a good morning of sheepshead and black drum fishing, and on light spinning tackle the husband and wife duo had a ball. Once again live shrimp fooled the sheepshead of which they kept 14, and after the sheepshead run we went after black drum. On the black drum hole they finished up the morning with 7 nice fish, 4 that were in the 7 to 8-pound class. The lady on the boat had the hot hand on this outing, and Perry landed 3 of the 4 biggest drum, as well as the lion's share of the sheepshead. Perry said she might have blisters after fighting the biggest drum, but she sure was excited about landing the hard fighting bottom dwellers. As usual this couple was a lot of fun to fish with, and will be back this summer for a shot at the Florida pompano, a speciality aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. As I write this we had a storm brewing in the gulf, and I hope it dies down before it make landfall on our coastal regions. Anyway, after the storm passes I will be ready to go after the fish once again, so be sure to give me a call for some post storm fishing. Hey, the fishing is often good after a storm! By the way, the drum and sheepshead fishing can be conducted in windy conditions within the protected confines of the bay, and it's just mere minutes to the fish from the launch. And don't forget that I am a full-time year-round guide that is willing to take you fishing anytime of the year. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Yesterday I had Nicholas Honchar from Brooklyn, New York and his daughter Nicole aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for a day of fun light tackle fishing in the Back Bay of Biloxi. Well, just a skip, hop, and a jump from the D'Iberville Marina the father and daughter duo were hauling in the big sheepshead, as well as black drum. Armed with 7-foot Shimano spinning rods, Shimano spinning reels spooled with 10-pound-test Yo-Zuri Hybrid line, and a live well full of beautiful live shrimp, well, it was a fish catching melee in the bay, and the big sheepshead stole the show. Often referred to as "bay snapper", a large influx of the big sheepshead are now entering the bays at the weather begins to cool, and the waters clear. When the trip ended their take home catch included: 20 big sheepshead, 12 black drum, 20 white trout, 2 nice speckled trout, and a big spot. The weather was windy but gorgeous, and the bite was hot, and it doesn't get any better than that. And best of all, you can be catching fish in protected waters less that 5-minutes from the dock. I post a few pics here too! Remember folks, I am a full-time year-round guide...period...and ready to guide you to a fun filled half or full day of fishing here in beautiful south Mississippi. With a good Chandeleur season behind us we have been full bore on our marsh trips the past couple of weeks. The fish are there! Our marsh dock is complete and has turned out to be a fantastic attribute to our trips. The marsh is beautiful in the winter. If you have never spent a few days and nights fishing on location, I highly recommend you come with us.

Fished the Back Bay of Biloxi today with James and Pam Gathright from Texas, and they had a ball catching black drum, big sheepshead, and a few white trout in the bay. Started out on the white trout reefs outside the Ocean Springs Bridge, and the bite was dead. Got there at dead low tide, no tidal movement, and winds picking up. However, a run back into the bay led to some excellent light tackle bottom fishing. With live shrimp from Fort Bayou Bait Camp the husband and wife duo boxed 30 black drum, 6 big sheepshead, and 6 white trout, a nice morning of bay fishing. It's good to see those big sheepshead showing up too, and on 10-pound-test spinning gear they put up a great fight. I'll post a couple pics of the brutes on this site. Got a couple of more trips this week, and will probably work on the drum and sheepshead with a few small groups aboard. Those big sheepshead are a sucker for a small live shrimp hooked through the base of the horn on a 25-pound-test Seaguar fluorocarbon leader. It was chilly out there today, but if you don't like the heat now is a great time to book a trip. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS Cell (228) 697-7707

Fished yesterday with Harvey McGehee of Clinton, MS, and this gentleman wanted to catch a few big speckled trout. Well, it just so happens the day before Ben Bonoit and I caught 10 wide-shouldered specks tossing top-water baits, and so it looked like we would try and repeat the big trout catching. We got a late start, and the wind kept picking up on us so the in initial spot produced only 2 big fish. However, a last minute stop resulted in 3 more hefty fish, and they simply exploded on the MirrOlure She Dogs. In all, Harvey took home 5 fish pushing 20-pounds, and was amply impressed with the way the big trout engulfed to surface baits. I'll put a few pics of them on this site. Got a couple of trips for next week, and the white trout, black drum, and sheepshead are on fire. Hope to get some family groups back on those fish in the near future. A bite on every cast...now that's fun fishing! Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Brodie of TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS Cell (228) 697-7707

Just finished up 2 more excellent inshore fishing trips, and on both days the white trout, black drum, and sheepshead were on fire. My clients on Friday, the Don Shipp group boxed 40 black drum, 60 white trout, 6 sheepshead, and 1 ground mullet. Despite a nasty looking morning, well, the weather cleared out and they enjoyed a gorgeous day fishing in Biloxi Bay and the Back Bay of Biloxi. Back at the D'Iberville Marina they all pitched in on the fish cleaning, and in no time the guys were heading back home with a 5-gallon bucket full of fillets. There at the fish cleaning table is one of the most enjoyable parts of any fishing trip, and these gentlemen had plenty of funny tales to tell. Really good stuff! More happy clients heading home to enjoy the bounty of their fishing adventure aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Today, well, it was more of the same, but even better. It seems the big sheepshead are moving in more and more, and Andy Sanders, Ben Burnns, and his daughter Abi had a blast catching the tasty "bay snapper". When this fantastic day of angling was over the group boxed 17 sheepshead, 20 plus black drum, 1 speckled trout, 2 ground mullet, and 105 white trout. And like the trip before my clients and I gathered at the D'Iberville Marina's fish cleaning table, and proceeded to take care of the day's catch. Andy is a regular client, can't get enough white trout and small black drum, and he simply loves catching those big white trout on popping corks, and who could blame him! Two days of great people, excellent fish catching, and all taking place in one of the most enjoyable places on earth...south Mississippi! I am going to take tomorrow off, but have plenty of openings the rest of the month, so be sure to get on this top-notch light tackle fish catching fun. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Listen JL, or whoever you are, these clients fished with me a few weeks ago and caught plenty of fish just like this trip. They helped me clean them on the first trip, ate them all, and came back for more. Matter a fact, they drive all the way in from Texas to fish with me, and they helped me clean all of these fish too. So for your information these fish are being put to good use. They already ate the first batch, and came back for more, bottom line. So sleep well, these fish will make plenty of meals for my clients without suffering from any freezer burn. By the way, I am glad you release plenty of fish, I do too, but it just so happens I catch lots of fish, and make my living doing so. Have a nice day! PS: Folks the fishing is on fire here in south Mississippi, so come and catch a mess while the weather is cool. Regards and many thanks to all of my wonderful clients, Capt. Robert L. Having been off the water for a few days, well, it was good to get back in the saddle again. Today I had Troy Whiteneck back ftom Texas for the third time this season, and this time he brought along his fish catching wife Susan. Our first stop on a shallow water oyster reef led to 140 beautiful white trout, 4 nice speckled trout, as well as a 20-pound-class black drum that Susan landed. With live shrimp suspended under popping corks it was non stop fish catching fun, and I had to pry them out of the relentless biting fish. As if that wasn't enough action, our next stop back in the Back Bay of Biloxi led to more of the same fish on every cast, but this time it was black drum. Before I knew it they had 25 in the box with many released fish. Plus, Troy added a really nice redfish to the drum catch, and a great way to end an exciting morning of fishing. Please check out the pics I've posted here too!Listen folks, it's only going to get better, so be sure to hop aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS now for some top-notch light tackle fish catching fun. Just finished up three more trips in a row, and the Florida pompano were on fire at the barrier islands. On MONDAY, well, 25 of the gorgeous pomps were boated, as well as a big bull redfish, and 3 big black drum. On TUESDAY, another fine catch of 16 big pompano were hauled in, and left them biting after just 3-hours of fishing. And on WEDNESDAY, today, I had Bob Grishman and Don Luedke aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS after pompano. The bite was a bit slow today, but the gentlemen boxed 10 nice pompano, lost 3 or 4 nice fish, and Don caught and released a nice bull redfish. In all, 3 excellent days of light tackle barrier island fishing. Looks like the weekend will be a cold washout, and we'll have to see what the cold weather does to the pompano. But I know colder weather will draw more and more big bull redfish and black drum to the barrier islands shallows, and that will be top-notch light tackle fishing. Been on the water 6 out of the last 7 days, and these old bone could use a rest, and the Yamaha needs it 100 hour service too. Looks like good timing! I must say this has been the best year for Florida pompano to date, and I am already excited about introducing anglers to these magnificent fish next year. However, once cold weather sets in the big sheepshead and black drum will become more and more active in the bays, and that's some excellent light tackle fun too. Will post some pics here too! Just finished up trips on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and they were all trips conducted in coastaly bays due to unpredictable weather. However, we still boxed a lot of fish, and made for excellent light tackle bottom fishing fun. On THURSDAY, Guy Almodovar and his son Randy hammered the black drum boxing 30, and then finished up the day going to popping corks, and then adding 35 nice white trout to the box. On FRIDAY my friend and regular client Don Thomason, his son Brad, and Paul "Crazy" Campo were back again, and with high winds we fished the bays boxing 33 black drum, 1 bluegill, and 2 big spots. And on SATURDAY it was mostly catch and release, yet Elmer Jones, his wife Monoco, and their 13-year-old son Trey had a blast catching all sorts of fish. Released 2 small redfish, 15 or so black drum, loads of croakers of which a few were big bulls, and 60 white trout on popping corks that were designated to my neighbors and friends. Also, Trey battled a black drum in the 30-pound-class for over 30 minutes, but the 10-pound-test broke just before the big fish was landed. Would loved to have taken Trey's picture with the brute, but that's fishing, and there will be other opportunities for him down the road. Hope to get to the barrier islands in the next couple of days to chase the Florida pompano, as well as some redfish. What more can I say, still booking trips, catching plenty of fish, and enjoying my time on the water with great people. Life is good! So book your trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS now, and create some fun fishing memories for you and your family. Remember, I am a full-time year-round guide, and a half-a-day 5-hour trip is merely $350 for 1 to 4 anglers, and $450 for an all-day 8-hour trip. Ice, bait, tackle, fuel, MS fishing license, and fishing is included. A sweet package deal! Regards and many thaks to all, Capt. Robert L. Ran a trip on Saturday and my guests Larry Williamson, Jeffrey Williamson, Justin Williamson, and Zane Chapman. Started out the trip by boxing 10 really nice Florida pompano at the barrier islands, as well as releasing multituded of big ladyfish. However, it was extremely rolly, and one of the guys got rather sick. Thus, we cut the island fishing short and ran back to the Katrina Reef bagging a few white trout. From there we made or way into the Back Bay of Biloxi, and there the gentlemen finished up the day with 4 sheepshead, a fine flounder, and 12 or so black drum. Despite poor weather the men caught a box full of fish, and were really fun to fish with. By the way, the pompano were there for the taking even in rough conditions. Got some good reports on redfish and big Spanish mackerel at the barrier islands too, and hope to finish up the month of October strong as long as the weather cooperates. On Sunday one of my most regular clients John Noel and his friend Jimmy Childres were back aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Made a run into the Tchoutacabouffa River, and there the guys boxed 8 nice speckled trout, as well as many throw back reds and specks. When the speck bite died off we ran back down into the Back Bay of Biloxi, and there the gentlemen hammered the black drum boxing 38. Had to pry the guys off that hot bite! In all, a lot of light tackle fun, and plenty of fresh fish fillets. These two gentlemen are always a hoot to fish with! Have a number of trips in a row, and hopefully the seas will be calm and the fish biting like crazy. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Sails were around the 100 pounds and with 3 dorado's to share the day they had a tasty ceviche was soooo nice! Just finished up two trips in a row, and man were the big Florida pompano an extreme pleasure to catch. Really, I got to catch most of them because I was hired to catch them, and then bring them back in alive. It was strange getting paid to actually fish, but I took advantage of it and fished them hard for 2 days in a row. Yeah, I know, someone has to do it, and it's a great situtation to be in. On Wednesday we brought in 16 gorgeous fish, and today it was on fire with 25 exceptional pompano caught on light tackle spinning gear. Some of these brutes were over 3-pounds! Both days started out with mild northerly winds, and each ended with slick calm seas around midday. What can I say, ideal fishing conditions, calm seas, water clarity the best it has been in weeks, and big fat Florida pompano eager to jump wildly and strip the 10-pound-test Yo-Zuri Hybrid off the Shimano spinning reels. Didn't take many pictures due to the need to keep them alive, but it was some of the best pompano fishing of the year, not due to the numbers, but because the conditions were so magnificent to enjoy catching these speedsters. Bottom line, the Florida pompano bite is on fire, and now is the time to book a trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS as soon as possible. I am booked up this weekend, but next week I have some openings. Did battle with a huge sea turtle on Wednesday too, check the pics out on my web site. It's been a long time since I've seen one of those monsters! Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Just finished up 3 trips on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and it was a run of big Florida pompano that stole the show once again. Had the Joey Lewis group from South Carolina once again, and on Friday the boxed 18 gorgeous pompano, as well as 80 white trout. On Saturday the weather chased us in from the barrier islands, but they still boxed 7 big pompano, 20 plus white trout, as well as 20 black drum. Ans on Sunday, I had the Noah Vaughn group, and these 3 gentlemen simply slammed the hefty Florida pompano. By 11 am the guy has 18 beautiful fish in the box, added a big southern kingfish and a gulf kingfish, 25 white trout, a 22-inch redfish, and a mess of black drum. Looks like a cold front will mess things up for the next few days, but once things settle down the fishing should remain strong. I'll put some of the impressive pompano pics on this site too. WEDNESDAY-SEPTEMBER 23, 2009 - Well I finally got a taker on the latest Florida pompano run, and my one client Ralph Dreher had the hard fighting and tasty fish all to himself. Believe it or not, well, the conditions for catching pompano looked poor, but the fish were there despite the high seas and stained water. When the morning was over Ralph boated 12 really beautiful fish, as well as a nice flounder. Big bluefish and ladyfish added to the light tackle action too! The pomps were nice fish, averaging around 2-pounds, and they fought like crazy, blazing runs and wild jumps. Ralph had a ball! Had a few fish jump or pull off, but I'll take a dozen big pompano any day of the week, but then who wouldn't. I am booked up for the next couple of days, and will report back soon. Hey, the pompano bite is hot, so be sure to book that trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS now. The bite should be good through October, but don't wait to long to get into the action. Regards, Capt. Well things have finally slowed down a bit, but it gives me more time to catch up on other projects, and best of all spend more time with my 4-year-old granddaughter. My last trip was on last Wednesday, and the big white trout cooperated well. My one client David Alcorn managed to box 101 of the silver beauties and 2 black drum. Caught most of the fish on the Ocean Springs Reef and in the Back Bay of Biloxi, about 7 and 3-minute runs to the fishing grounds respectively. Reef fish were caught using popping corks, and the bay trout were caught using bottom rigs and chunks of menhaden. Been putting off trips due to weather, but it looks like the next couple of days and weekend looks good. Got trips booked to fish for pompano, and I am eager to get back after them. Bottom line, the white trout bite is hot as ever, and close to shore. Barrier islands are holding pompano and redfish, so there are plenty of fishing options out there right now. Weather looks like it's going to get nice, and that means great fishing opportunities right now. Remember...I am a full time guide...fish 12 months out of the year...and always set on go. So give me a call at (228) 697-7707 or send an e-mail to captainbrodie@teambrodiecharters.com and lets go catch a mess of fish. Regards, Capt. Robert L. Although I missed out on eating some excellent Labor Day food with family and friends, well, duty calls, and off my clients Tom and Sue Manthey and I went to catch a few fish. This was to be a short trip so I decided to keep it in close. On our first stop the white trout bite turned on after a few minutes, and soon they were hauling them in. Caught 40 quickly, and then moved to another spot and picked up 5 more. My intentions were to try all of my best reefs this morning to see which one had the most fish. Well, should have stayed at the first reef because it was really producing. However, the weather go so pretty that we decided to make a quick run to the west end of Horn Island, and there Tom hooked and landed his first Florida pompano. The ladyfish were thick too, and they managed to do battle with all they could stand. On the way back to the dock fished in the Back Bay of Biloxi, and slipped 5 more nice white trout into the box. Total take home catch today: 52 white trout and a nice Florida pompano. Not a big fish kill, but they had a lot of fun, went home with a gallon bag full of fresh fish fillets to fry and a pompano to bake up, and will try to get back down in October for a full day. Tom really got a kick out of the pompano's fighting ability, and he'll really be pleased when he tastes it on his dinner plate. OK folks, I've got plenty of openings so give me a call and let's go catch some fish. Really looking for some full day trips so we can pound the barrier islands for redfish and Florida pompano. Now is the time to do it! Regards and thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI FISHING HOT! SATURDAY, September 5, 2009 - Picked up a last minute trip yesterday, and my group consisting of brothers Terry Stapleton and David Stapleton from Atlanta, GA had a short, but fun filled fish catching outing aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. We left the D'Iberville Marina at 12:30, and were back at the dock at 3:30. However, in that short span of time the men boated just under 100 white trout, 96 to be precise, and caught and released a number of big high-leaping ladyfish. Left them biting like crazy! Talk about fresh fish, they were all alive in the live well back at the marina. It was more popping cork fishing using live shrimp, and a bite or fish on ever cast was the norm. Generally, one or two pops of the cork and down it would plunge. If you've never experience such fast fish catching action, well, you're missing out on a lot of fun. And best of all, it was just a 7-minute run to the fishing grounds. Got in early, cleaned the fish at the head of the D'Iberville Marina pier, and had Terry and David 7 quart bags filled with fresh boneless fillets ready for the road. With the reef bite so hot it's easy to fish them for a few hours, load up on trout, and then head out to the barrier islands in persuit of Florida pompano and bull redfish. That's on a full day trip of course! Folks, things are going to get better and better in the next two months, so be sure to get in on the fish catching action aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Remember, I am a full time guide running half (morning or afternoon trips), full, and nighttime trips too. And don't forget that I'll be running fully guided diving duck hunts starting the day after Thanksgiving. Booked on Labor Day for the morning, but I am now looking for some hard-core anglers to spend the full day seeking Florida pompano and bull reds at the barrier islands, Any takers? FISHING PRICES: A 5-hour half-a-day trip goes for $350 (1 to 4 anglers), and an 8-hour all-day trip is $450. GUIDED DUCK HUNT PRICES: All-day trips go for $450 for a 2-man hunt. BIG FLORIDA POMPANO BITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well I finally made it back to the barrier islands, and the trip was well worth the run. Started out the morning on a nearshore white trout reef and the bite was hot, another fish on every cast situtation. Could have loaded the ice chest! However, I had one of my most regular clients aboard, John Noel of Jackson, MS and his friend Jimmy Childres aboard, and we decided to run to the barrier islands in search of pompano. Well, pompano they found, and when the action finally came to an end the gentlemen managed to put 20 beautiful pompano in the box. Lost 2 fish on the prop too, but that's all part of fishing for these crazy and delicious fish. It was great, not another boat in sight, and the fish were biting. Life was all around us, cow-nose rays, giant stingrays, sharks, massive schools of mullet, crabs all over the flats, and big jack crevalles in persuit of the mullet. Just a magnificent setting to be catching big pompano in. John caught and released a 35-pound jack too, and after one of those brutes, well, they decided that was enough of those critters for one day. Heck, the big ladyfish and bluefish are thick on the flats too, and they keep the light tackle action going in between the pompano bites. How wild are pompano? Well, we had one big fish simply free jump into the boat, and that's the third fish this summer that has commited suicide. Plus, while John was fighting a pompano one of them went airborne and hit him in the chest, and another hooked fish jumped and landed in the net I was holding in my hand. Funny thing was, I was just standing inside the boat waiting for the fish to be brought boat side. Yes, when the bite is on pompano are a one of a kind light tackle fishing treat. So come on down and hop aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for some excellent inshore, nearshore, and barrier island light tackle fishing. The fish are biting and I now have pleny of openings with the kids being back in school, but hey, you can always take them on the weekends. With all of the big jack crevalles prowling the island's flats, anytime now the big bull redfish should start to show up. And throw a few of them in with pompano fishing, and you have a real light tackle angling treat. Also, don't forget to book you big-water diving duck hunt aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS too, trips focused on trophy divers like redheads, greater and lesser scaups, buffleheads, scoters, and canvasbacks. These 2-man all day trips go for $450, and you'll be gunning over 100 diving duck decoys rigged on long lines. Hey, fall is in the air, duck season is right around the corner, and the fish bite is just getting better and better. Here at TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS it's year round fishing, with a dose of duck hunting thrown in for good measure. And like I say, "At TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS it's about the bite and the flight!" LET'S FISH...LET'S FISH...LET'S FISH! The last couple of trips have been kept near shore, and still the white trout bite has been great. On one of my more recent trips with Carl Coleman from Columbus, TX and his 8-year-old son Trey, well, the father and son duo hammered the fish. We brought back 90, and probably shook of half that many. Needless to say the bite was hot! Live shrimp and menhaden suspended under a popping cork was deadly, but Carl tossed out soft-plastics too, and once he learned to bump the bait slowly on the bottom it was a fish on every cast. We left the fish biting in a feeding frenzy, and the guys only had a few hours to fish in the morning anyway. Now that this Redfish Cup is over with I'll be back out on the water tomorrow looking for some sort of angling fun. Have a regular client tomorrow, and will report back with our catch soon as possible. Not for sure what we'll fish for, but would like to give the barrier islands another shot. Those pompano should show up again in good numbers this month and in October, as well as the bull reds. It's been a few days since I've fished, and it will be good to get back on the water. However, a bit of down time gives me a chance to go over all of the tackle and boat, you know, fixing those little things that one doesn't have time or energy to do when fishing constantly. But I am back in the saddle, and ready to take on another run of fishing trips. Listen, I now have plenty of openings, and the weather has been quite nice for the most part lately. September and October are excellent months to fish in south Mississippi, so book your trip aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS now for some great light tackle fishing fun of your own. Yeah, I know the kids are back in school, but you always have the weekends. SOUTH MISSISSIPPI DUCK HUNTING!!!!!!!!!!!!! And don't forget to book your big-water diving duck hunt aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS this waterfowl season! These trips go for $450 (two hunters can divide up that price), and I always have an assistant guide along to help with the 100 plus decoys. Main trophy birds sought are drake redheads, buffleheads, greater scaups, and lesser scaups. We hunt in one of the few areas in this region that hold a good population of redheads. These hunts generally start around Thanksgiving Day, so be sure to give me a call (228) 697-7707, and we'll set you up for one of our all day hunts. Remember...life is short...so be sure to set up a hunting or fishing adventure of your own aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. Many thaks to all, Capt. Robert L. STRIKE ZONE CHARTERS Louisiana & Guatemala Saturday morning we left out of Cypress Cove Marina around 9am on Strike Zone Too with Charlie and crew from Texas for their “Meat in the Bucket Rodeo 09”. By the way, Happy 40th birthday to Larry. As we headed south to Green Canyon, the color change was gradual with no defined line. After dodging some fairly large thunderstorms full of fire, we arrived at our first stop. The outriggers were dropped into position and the lines were out. It only took ten minutes for the first double knock down. After a few minutes and some fancy boat maneuvering, we landed two Yellowfin Tuna, the first was about 50lbs with the second being around 60lbs. After a few more runs we had a curious Blue Marlin browse the spread but would not eat. About an hour later a White Marlin shows in the spread and hit one of the baits, but all we got was a messed up leader. He lives to fight another day. As we were presented with a beautiful sunset, the grilled was fired up for a steak dinner with all the fixings. We fished a couple of rigs with no surface signs but caught several Blackfin Tuna then moved on to the next spot. Around 2am Yellowfin Tuna started busting and the guys picked off another 4 Yellowfin, a few more Blackfin and 5 Rainbow Runners. With only a few minutes left before heading back north, Charlie hooked up. Thirty minutes later, a 100 pounder was in the box and we headed home. Saturday’s day trip on Stress Management was not as lucky. They went to the rigs that produced fish on Friday but couldn’t get them to eat. Unfortunately that’s fishing. We have the 55’ open Wednesday to Friday this week for a 24hr trip and Sunday to Monday next week. STRIKE ZONE CHARTERS is celebrating 21 years in the charter business. WHAT A TWO MONTH RUN....This has been the best July and August that I have had in the 21 year history of Strike Zone Charters. The weather, the anglers and the fish have been cooperating. We have had to run a lot further than the norm but the reward has been GREAT catches of Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna. The average 24hr trip on the 55' Strike Zone Too has been 12 to 15 Yellowfin with the largest in the last two months being a 141 pounder that came on the slowest trip of the Two Month RUN. We have tagged eight Blue Marlin with three of them coming in the past three weeks. Lots of Bull Dolphin in the first part of July. And the AJ's have been the big hogs as usual. And let's not forget the red icing on the top of the fish box...THE RED SNAPPERS (Who are in danger..... of killing themselves from over population) We are now waiting for the Blue Water and the big Yellowfin to move back home. It will be nice to start fishing seven to twenty miles out of the pass. I know this will make the oil companies sad but it will sure help our fishing pocket books. Guatemala has been slow....Everyone is waiting for the up coming season (Oct to May).....When we have had boats out they have done very good....The last trip was with a local group and they went 5 for 10 on the Sails and had 16 Dorado's. The problem is the same as it was in Venice years ago...It was only a few of us fishing from October to April(Capt Mike Fernett and Capt. Mike Adam's)....Now we have found this is some of our better months as long as the weather stays in tack. Next year we are going to promote the slow months with some great specials on three day fishing trips. to Guatemala...We are getting ready for the Guatemala Run:::Seth Is heading down on Monday to bring some supplies and to make sure the boats are ready for October. Capt. Kevin Aderhold and Seth Holl and going to start running one of the boats in Guatemala the latter part of this year. They are not good on their spanish but they are real good on the Sails and the Spanish ladies. Get a group and come join us on a fun fishing trip on one of our luxury yachts, either in Louisiana or Guatemala. If you can't find a group give Capt. Danny Pate a call and he will try and get you on one of the trips...WE WANT TO TAKE YOU CATCHING. Here at Light House Baits, we finally got both large shrimp and croakers at the same time. Perhaps the weather will work out for a little trip. Speaking of little trips, been out twice this week to both Horn and P.Boy. Got to watch those' squals. The fish are running down the inside of both island very close to the beach. Two boat lengths close. Fish the tide change and the fun awaits. Both islands are open to camping almost all over. Need a hike? There is a mid 1800 schooner on the south side in the sand that is fun to find. Location ranger cross island trail to the south side, then east about 1/4 mile. It is up on the dune line and has a red fence about it. Remember it is an artifact so don,t vandilize. Tight lines, Capt John

Hailing from Texas, Troy Whiteneck was back for his second day in a row fishing aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS. With the weather better than the previous morning, well, we were off to the open water reefs in the Mississippi Sound. Early on there was a bit of chop, but the 2170 Blazer Bay had no problem getting quickly to the open water fishing grounds. Some might think the fishing couldn't get any better than the day before, but once again the bite was on fire. Just like the morning before the popping corks would hit the water for a second or two and then dissappear out of sight. Set the hook, and it was game on...and on ...and on! However, here on the deeper waters of the open reefs the fish were much bigger, what we like to call "yellow-mouth" white trout. Yes, there were a number of small fish mixed in, but those were all released with such big specimens being caught. I showed the big white trout to a couple of locals at the dock, and at first they thought the fish were speckled trout...yes...the majority of them were big fatties. Troy did boat a nice speckled trout too, as well as a few small sharks. Excellent light tackle fun! Believe it or not, we ended up with 102 fish in the box, just like yesterday's trip. These white trout were simply gorgeous fish, and the fell for live shrimp and menhaden suspended 5-feet under a popping cork. Fish were caught and or released all morning long. Hey, if you weren't getting a bite it was a sure bet no bait was on the hook. Listen, now is the time to take advantage of this top-notch light tackle fishing fun. The fish are here for the taking, and I am set on go. And just like yesterday we left the fish biting, yeah, the action is really that hot. So come on down to south Mississippi and hop aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and let's create some fish catching memories of your own. TAKE NOTE: You can book a 5-hour white trout trip for 4 for as little as $350, and that includes: ice, bait, tackle, fuel, and your MS fishing license. Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. More rain today, and yes, we fished in the rain! My client was Troy Whiteneck, and armed with popping cork rigs and plenty of big live shrimp it was back to the white trout reefs. Just 5 minutes from the dock Troy was tossing out his lively crustaceans on a calm rain dimpled surface. The beauty of it was the overcast skies, and better yet the fish were on fire once again. A pop or two of the noisy cork and down it would plunge. As fast as I could take off his fish and rebait his hook Troy was hauling them in. Fishing in the rain is really cool, especially when the bite is relentless! A couple of big high-leaping ladyfish added to Troy's fish after fish catching fun. When the morning trip was over Troy had 102 beautiful white trout in the box, and he had so much fun we're going back out tomorrow. Hopefully, the weather tomorrow will allow us to get to the open water reefs in the Mississippi Sound allowing us to add some nice specks and big Spanish mackerel to the ice chest. Back at the D'Iberville Marina, Troy scaled and I filleted and deboned the fish, and in a short time we had 7 quart bags full of delicious fillets. Folks, I have plenty of openings from here on out, and we're coming up on some of our best fishing of the year. So gather up some friends, the kids, the wife, or even the grandchildren and let't catch some fish while the bite is on fire. Haven't forgot about the Florida pompano and bull reds at the barrier islands, and once we get some nice weather I'll be back chasing them in the isle's shallow flats. So many fish, so little time! Remember, you can book a 5-hour inshore trip for as little as $350, and that price can be divided up among 4 anglers. It's a great deal! Regards and many thaks to all, Capt. Robert L. What can I say, despite some really nasty weather lately I've been able to put my clients on a good bite, and they've taken advantage of it. Oh yes, I do miss fishing the barrier islands for Florida pompano, bull reds, and the like, but fishing close to home has been great, and it's just not wise to gbe out in some of these terrible storms. On some past trips I had the Joey Lewis group from South Carolina aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and on their first morning out they boxed 106 big white trout, 3 nice speckled trout, 22 small black drum, and a massice 3-pound Florida pompano. On their second trip the group managed to box 2 nice redfish, 15 black drum, 1 flounder, as well as 50 white trout and ground mullet. Had the Richard Murphy group too, and they easily boxed 95 nice white trout, 16 black drum, and a nice flounder. That trip was followed up by Weeks Crawford and his 7 year old son Colton, and they had a ball boxing 150 white trout, 4 nice speckled trout, and a black drum. On Saturday, the Allen Honek group managed to box 95 white trout, 4 nice speckled trout, 1 big Spanish mackerel, a couple of ground mullet, and a black drum. And then on Sunday I had my long time client Don Thomason and his boss aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS, and Don wanted me to put the boss on a lot of fish. Well, back to the reefs with popping corks and live shrimp. Again, easing pickings! Practically a fish on every cast! In a short period of time they boxed 105 white trout and a nice flounder. As you can see the white trout bite is on fire, and 100 plus fish mornings has been the norm. On most of these trips we've left them biting like crazy. Great light tackle fun, and a delicious fish to eat! Well there you have it, just fishing within 5 minutes or so from the dock and raking them in. Once this weather clears I'll be in search of the Florida pompano again at the barrier islands, and have some new jigs a client gave to me to try on them. Matter a fact, he'll be fishing with me for the next two days to test our waters, and he was quite interested in my white trout cork rigs, and Mississippi's barrier island Florida pompano fishing. So hop aboard TEAM BRODIE CHARTERS for some top-notch light tackle fishing fun, and don't forget to bring along that ice chest for fresh fish fillets. Listen, I've got plenty of openings so come on down and let's fish and have some fun in south Mississippi. I'll put some of the latest pics on here too. Until next report keep it safe out there and good fishing! Regards and many thanks to all, Capt. Robert L. Well its been awhile since i have been able to post, but the fishing has been good even though we have had to dodge the weather every day.first trip up is the Mark Broome crew, his brother Michael is getting hitched so the bachelor party was a fishing trip.Had to call in Capt. Brett Ladner for half the group, and the fishing was hot that day.We fished a few spots and caught fish at all of them,we wound up the day with 125 trout 4 reds and a couple of flounders,Best wishes to you and your new bride Michael Broom.Next up was the Carter Hilyar gang, the first stop was a decent trout bite free lining live clickers,it was a little slow but they were really nice fish so we stayed put and had 24 nice trout for the effort. It was super hot that day so i asked the guys if they wanted to go hunt a few Triple Tail and they said sure, well to make a long story short we went 5 for 8 on the tails and they had a blast,Thank for a great time Carter, Rick and Bill.Tuesday i had the PaPa Johns crew from Tenessee,David, Josh,Chris,Jeff and James, these guys had never fished saltwater beforeand only 2 of them had ever fished before,Luckily every thing worked out great and we ended the day with a nice box of fish,43 nice trout 3 giant spanish and 1 triple tail. These were a great group of guys and a Big time was had by all.Thursday i had Lee Mitchell and his son Robert,it was a tough day with neap tide and squalls, ended the morning with 18 nice trout and 2 reds, and 2 flounder.Friday i had the pleasure of fishing with DR. ED Harmon and his son Jason,it was another tough day in the neighborhood, the wind was really blowing and it made for some tough fishing,we only managed to put a dozen or so nice trout in ths box. We went on the redfish hunt and found them but the guys just couldnt capatilize, went 2 for 12 on the slots.Well that brings us to the present and Capt.Matt and i canceled Saturday and Sunday due to the weather,I started fishing out of the new 24 Blazer Bay Coastal and it is a Fishing Machine,Again i would like to thank the guys at CROWN LEISURE MARINE, and Kevin Desellle and his crew at SPORT TRAIL TRAILERS,this is and awesome rig and i know my clients and i will enjoy our time in my new rig for years to come.Congratulations to Capt. Stopped by the old broadwater marina and casted a few times on the way to work. Caught several white trout in the 15 minutes that I was there.
